Frequently Asked Questions
I have cockroaches and spiders, but i’m not sure what type they are?
The best way is for a pest controller to identify it. If you believe you can safely catch the bug to show it to me, do so. The best way is to spray the bug with hairspray and flick it into a sealed bag or jar.
How often should I have a Pest Control treatment done?
This really depends on where your house is located and what pests are a problem. Generally it is recommended to spray once every 12 months.
Do I need to empty the cupboards in my kitchen?
No it is not necessary to empty cupboards as we apply a gel to areas that cockroaches are likely to visit. The use of liquid sprays in these areas is rare.
Should I move anythnig or pack anything away?
Within reason, move as much as you can away from the skirting boards. Pack away toys, kitchen utensils, pet food bowls etc.
What about our cat and dog – Are they safe?
Yes they are safe but it’s probably a good idea to remove your animal from the immediate spraying area.
Generally there is little to worry about, the amount of active ingredient they could ingest is very small.
I’ve found an old wasps nest on my patio, do I need to worry?
No – wasps don’t use the same nest twice, but there may be another nest close by. If you have seen wasps around and are concerned, best to call us and we can look after your problem.
Should I stay at home, or leave, when you spray?
We generally recommend you that you stay home, it’s great for you to see the results! I do however recommend that you leave the particular area of your house whilst it is being treated.
Is there any preparation I need to do before the pest control treatment inside?
Within reason, any item that is located near the skirting boards should be moved away. Any food left out must be put away. All Windows and doors need to be closed and air-conditioning turned off.
What do I need to wash after the treatment?
In most cases there is no need to wash anything after your treatment.
After you treat the house, is it normal for us to see cockroaches, spiders and ants coming out?
Yes, you may see some around. They will have come into contact with the treated area and will die shortly after.
If there are a few streaks from the spraying on my windows, when can I clean them?
It is a good idea to leave the treated areas for a day or two. After this time you can clean the windows but try to leave the barrier around the frame.
