What to expect after your Service

What to expect after your Service

General Pest Services

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR SERVICE

As stated above, it is often normal to see pests for a short period after your service. This is because the pesticide is designed to flush pests out of concealed areas before it takes effect.

The pest will ingest the residual pesticide through the grooming process and will die shortly after. If you have any concerns after your service and during the warranty period, please contact our office and we will ask the Inspector that completed your service to contact you with advice.

If you experience an ant problem after your service, this indicates that you could possibly have an underlying nesting ant problem at your property that may need addressing. The General Pest Treatment pesticide, whilst it is wet, will kill general ants wandering around but if there are nests in wall cavities, subfloors, roof voids or other concealed areas, you will need a specific Nesting Ant Treatment. This is an additional service using completely different pesticides and baits depending on the severity, location and species of any present. They take these products back to their nests and eliminate the ant colony. If it is within 2 weeks of your General Pest Treatment, we will complete this service for a reduced price. After 2 weeks the full Nesting Ant Treatment cost will apply. If this happens after your service, please contact our office for advice.

German Cockroaches

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR SERVICE

On the day of treatment we flush all the living German Cockroaches we can find out of their harbourage areas and kill them. A residual pesticide with an Insect Grown Regulator is left in place to keep working after we finish. When mopping your kitchen floor, please stay at least 10cm out from the skirting boards to ensure the residual pesticide is not disturbed for as long as possible.

After your service you may still see German Cockroaches emerging from concealed areas. They will die shortly after coming into contact with the pesticide or you can spray any remaining ones directly with a can of pesticide spray.

A German Cockroache egg contains 30-40 live baby cockroaches and as no pesticide can penetrate the egg casing, and there may be hundreds of eggs laid in concealed areas that we cannot access, these eggs will hatch over the next few weeks. If there is a severe infestation and there are quite a number of cockroaches that hatch, you will require another follow-up treatment to be completed. If this is conducted within 2 weeks of your initial treatment, we offer a discounted price. After 2 weeks the normal service price will apply. Please stay in contact with our office if you have any concerns.

Flea Treatment

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR SERVICE

Once we have treated all the internal and external areas and the pesticide has dried, it is fine to walk over the treated areas and pets can return to the yard. Please only spot mop your floors over the next few weeks to ensure the residual pesticide can do its job. The treatment kills live fleas on the day and the residual keeps working on any fleas hatching from any eggs laid in concealed areas. Sometimes a Flea Treatment can take up to six weeks to be successful depending on the number of eggs laid. It is for this reason that we request that you vacuum your floors every few days for as long as you can to remove any dead fleas or loose eggs and their casings. The contents of the vacuum cleaner should be placed in a sealed bag and placed in the garbage bin, not put back in your cupboard.

Any remaining eggs will continue to hatch, move through the residual and die until they are all gone. If the infestation is quite severe, you may require an additional treatment or we may suggest you use a can pesticide spray if you are finding it difficult to live through the hatching process. Please ensure any pets such as dogs and cats are treated with the approved medication regularly as directed by your Vet and their bedding is also washed weekly.

Ground Dwelling Spider Treatment

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR SERVICE

This service is the best possible treatment for Ground Dwelling Spiders. Please note that it is impossible to lift every rock and log on your property to apply the treatment but our Inspector will give all the accessible ground areas a thorough spray to enable the pesticide to seep into the soil where Ground Dwelling Spiders live. After this service is completed please leave the treated areas undisturbed for 48 hours to enable the pesticide to have effect. Rain will not affect this service as the water will carry the pesticide deeper into the soil.

Nesting Ant Treatment

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE SERVICE

After a Nesting Ant Treatment is completed, a residual pesticide is left in place for the ants to take back to their nests and eliminate them. This usually takes about a week or so depending on the size of the infestation, to take full effect. If you are still experiencing an ant issue after 2 weeks, there may be additional nests that have not come into contact with our product. Please contact our office for advice if they continue to be a problem as we will need to come back and do further investigations and treatment (dependant on the warranty our Inspector has issued).

Wasp & Bee Removal

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR SERVICE

Where possible our Inspector will remove paper wasp nests once treated. On some occasions, depending on the location of the nest, it may not be possible to physically access the area safely to remove the nest after treatment. If this is the case, please do not be concerned as paper wasps out foraging will return to the treated nests and die once they come into contact with the residual pesticide.

    BEE REMOVAL

In the unfortunate case where problem bees have not been able to be saved after assessment by our Beekkeeper or Inspector, they will need to be treated. Bees that have entered weepholes in wall cavities or roof voids and have set up hives, unfortunately will have to be treated to stop further damage to the property and risk to people that may suffer from anaphalaxis. Once they have been treated, removal of any hives, honeycomb or repairs are the responsibility of the property owner.

Rodent Treatment

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR SERVICE

On the day the service is completed, our Inspector carries out a thorough inspection of your property locating any evidence and possible entry points that give them an indication of where the issues are and what the possible rodent pressure may be (how many are around) at your property.

Based on the above information, our Inspector has estimated the correct number of rodent baits to be installed and has placed them in strategic and safe positions around our home and yard to deal with any rodents entering. These baits are usually secured in the roof void or subfloor or in lockable tamper proof rodent stations around the external perimeter of your yard.

Once rodent bait is installed, you may hear some or see activity on the baits over the next day or two. Things generally settle down after that and all being well, enough bait has been installed to deal with the issue and some bait will be left to deal with any more that come along. Once activity has ceased, it is now time to fill or proof any gaps in walls, floors, etc as directed by our Inspector at the time of inspection. Also any trees overhanging or near the building providing a bridge for rodents to the building should be trimmed away.

If you have received a rodent bait box key and feel comfortable doing so, you can check the baits installed in the boxes and any baits placed in roof voids and roof void and subfloor. If it is within 2 weeks after your initial rodent inspection and you require more baits (due to all the baits being consumed or noises continuing) we are happy to waive another call out fee and install any additional baits required at a small cost for the baits only. If it is more than 2 weeks, a call out fee will be charged along with any additional bait required. Please contact our office to arrange another appointment.

We cannot offer a warranty on rodent services because it is impossible to know the population of rodents we are dealing with and how much bait they are going to eat. Our Inspector will make a judgement on the day and they will install, with your permission, what they believe reasonable.

If you notice a very bad smell coming from a particular area, unfortunately on the odd occasion a rodent will die inside the building. If this is the case and you are unable to locate it and remove it, we are happy to provide this service to you for a call out fee. We also have Odour Bags to purchase if the rodent has died in an internal wall cavity and cannot be located or removed.

Possum Removal

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR SERVICE

Once any possums have been removed and the appropriate entry areas proofed, the problem will be solved. Unfortunately this does not mean that possums may not find other areas to try and gain entry to the structure. Whilst we are solving the problem for you, we address all physically accessible areas that may provide entry however sometimes we may recommend another trade such as a roofing expert to address any areas we cannot access. We offer a warranty on our proofing installations. If there are any issues, please contact our office
