Wasp Treatment - Drop Dead Pest Control

Wasp Treatment

Wasps can be aggressive and deliver painful stings, making them a risk to people, pets, and especially those who suffer allergic reactions. Unlike bees, wasps are not beneficial pollinators and do not need to be preserved, so safe and effective treatment is the best option.

Our Inspector will carry out a thorough external inspection of your property to locate any wasp nests. Once located, the nests will be treated directly with a targeted pesticide. Where possible, our Inspector will remove treated paper wasp nests. However, in some cases the nest may be located in an area that is unsafe or inaccessible to physically remove (e.g. high up under a roof edge). If this occurs, there is no need for concern — paper wasps that return to the treated nest will come into contact with the residual pesticide and will die.

Types of Wasps We Commonly Treat:

  • Paper Wasps – Often build umbrella-shaped nests under eaves, pergolas, sheds, and fences. They are highly defensive of their nests and will sting multiple times if disturbed.

  • Mud Wasps – Solitary wasps that create small mud cells on walls, ceilings, or outdoor structures. While not as aggressive as paper wasps, their mud nests can be unsightly and are treated when required. They can also be brushed down.

Our wasp treatment provides fast relief from infestations, reduces the risk of stings, and keeps your outdoor areas safe.

Our General Pest Treatment also includes treatment for wasps – so if you are due for a General Pest Treatment – find more information here. This may be more cost effective.

How do I know if I have a wasp nest on my property?

Wasps are often seen flying around gardens, eaves, or sheds. Paper wasps typically build umbrella-shaped nests with a hexagonal pattern under roof edges, while mud wasps create small mud cells on walls or structures.

Where safe and accessible, yes, we remove treated nests. If the nest is in a dangerous or hard-to-reach spot, the residual pesticide will ensure returning wasps are eliminated.

We offer a specific Wasp Treatment that targets wasp nests directly. Alternatively, our General Pest Treatment also includes wasps, along with other common pests. If you’re due for a General Pest Treatment, this may be a more cost-effective option.

Treatment starts working immediately. Wasps that are inside the nest will be eliminated on contact, and those returning from foraging will die once they come into contact with the treated nest.

The treated nest will not be re-used by wasps. However, new nests may be built in the future, especially during warmer months. Regular inspections help catch new activity early.

  • Paper wasps live in colonies and aggressively defend their umbrella-shaped nests, stinging multiple times if threatened.

  • Mud wasps are solitary and build small mud cells, usually without aggressive behaviour, but can still cause concern around the home.
